Do you feel prepared to teach the LGBT content in the new History-Social Science Framework? Do you have a handle on the Fair Accurate Inclusive and Respectful (FAIR) Education Act? This law mandates the inclusion of the roles and contributions of LGBT Americans and people with disabilities in K-12 history-social science education. Dr. Don Romesburg (Sonoma State University) will explain how the law is integrated into the 2016 History-Social Science Framework and subsequent textbooks. Participants will learn: *Why teaching LGBT history matters. *How the Framework's grade-level chapters have incorporated LGBT history. *Key resources for teachers to educate themselves and share with students regarding individuals, events, and concepts for FAIR Education Act implementation.
